Farewell to the highlands

I write to you from a very lovely air conditioned room with a very hot evening of 30°C outside. I’ve left the snowy scottish highlands to travel to Hong Kong then onto Melbourne Australia. It’s been a fantastic journey so far and I will give you a better account of my goings on in next month’s blog post. I am currently in the midst of finding a house to live in for the duration of my stay and a studio space! So trying not to get too overwhelmed.

In the meantime, Hong Kong was so inspiring and jam packed full of beautiful fashion, people and food! I loved the culture and it makes me want to experience China further.

Since landing in Australia I have missed Scotland’s national day - Burns night! Although being over on the other side of the world still allows me to watch my parents ‘Address to the Haggis’ over Skype. So luckily I didn’t miss too much! I did wear my tartan trews if that counts.

So a lot to do and I will be sure to let you all know progress in the next blog post, until then keep warm …or keep cool wherever you may be! L x

“Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North,
The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.”
